Falken Motorsports celebrates new victory at Nürburgrin
2023-07-11Falken Motorsports delivered a fantastic performance in the Nürburgring Endurance Series with a win in the ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal race. This achievement was held by David Pittard and Joel Eriksson, who dominated the race behind the latest Porsche 911 GT3 R, and thus secured the first success at Nordschleife with the new Porsche 992 model.
In the morning qualifying session, David Pittard, the overall winner of this year’s 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, took third place in the table. His teammates, however, had only managed to reach the twentieth place, after the duo had taken a pit stop in the early stages of the classification that hampered them with a late phase of yellow flag.
At the start of the 6-hour race, Porsche riders took advantage of the potential of new Falken tyres. While Pittard consolidated his position in the top 3, Martin Ragginger started a brilliant chase, and in a few laps, the Austrian narrowed the gap and approached the drivers at the front.
Despite the high temperatures, which caused huge tire wear, the two blue and green cars always maintained high performance and allowed the four Falken drivers to maintain an accelerated pace throughout the race, leading to an undeniable victory for Falken tyres and his Motorsports team.
After six hours, Joel Eriksson and David Pittard crossed the finish line as overall winners of the ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal, the fifth stage of the Nürburgring Endurance Series.
The Nürburgring Endurance Series now has a two-month break before the next races. The 63rd ADAC ACAS Cup is scheduled on September 9, just one day before the athletes start the third six-hour race of the season, in the 62nd ADAC Reinoldus endurance race.
